Barcelona reportedly made an enquiry for Borussia Dortmund forward Serhou Guirassy as part of their search for a new No. 9 but decided against going for the 30-year-old.
According to Bild, the Catalans asked about the forward but gave up on the idea after learning that the forward earns around €10 million per year at the Bundesliga club.
Guirassy is one of several names that have been mentioned as Barcelona hunt for a new striker this summer following the departures of Robert Lewandowski and Ferran
Torres.
Julian Alvarez remains the club’s top target but Atletico do not want to sell, meaning the Catalans may have to look elsewhere before the transfer window closes.
Recent speculation has suggested that Barcelona are now thinking about Lautaro Martinez and Nicolò Tresoldi, with the club having just over a week to bring in a new attacker before the transfer window closes until January.
