Paris Saint-Germain have joined the race to sign Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon, adding further competition for the Magpies’ forward ahead of the summer transfer window.
“PSG have entered the running to sign an ‘underrated’ Newcastle star,” Football Fancast reported on May 14. “TEAMtalk also report that PSG have held conversations over a possible move for Gordon,” the report says.
The French champions are now evaluating the England international as part of their summer plans, although they are trailing
Bayern Munich in the race for his signature.
“The French champions are exploring their options after a season of transition and view Gordon as a profile that fits their recruitment plans,” the report adds. “Newcastle’s position is clear: no sale below £75m.”
Gordon continues to attract strong interest from multiple clubs, with Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea also linked, leaving Newcastle facing a potential bidding battle if negotiations advance.
According to Ben Jacobs, however, the Bundesliga champions already have an agreement in place with Gordon, with the only pending thing to finalize before completing the move being the transfer fee to pay Newcastle in exchange for their player.
