Sacramento Kings wing Keegan Murray suffered a thumb injury against the Portland Trail Blazers in the Blazers’ 124-123 win Friday, according to Michael Scotto of Hoopshype:
Sacramento Kings forward Keegan
Murray suffered a torn ulnar collateral ligament of the left thumb. Murray will undergo surgery and be re-evaluated in approximately 4-6 weeks, team says.
The Kings announced the news shortly thereafter
.Murray had 9 points and 5 boards and was a +11 in 16 minutes, all played in the first half. The injury may have occurred as he was fouled on a shot attempted by Shaedon Sharpe in the waning moments of the second quarter (Murray converted the and-one).
Former Blazers guard Anfernee Simons had surgery for the same injury but on his right thumb in 2023, and former Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge suffered a torn radial collateral ligament in his left thumb in 2015.
Murray averaged 12.4 points and 6.7 board last year for the Kings in 34 minutes per game. Keegan Murray is the twin brother to Blazers forward Kris Murray.
