Barcelona appear to have joined a long list of clubs keen on signing Marco Palestra in the summer transfer window.
The defender is owned by Atalanta but has caught the eye this season in Serie A during a loan spell with Cagliari.
Premier League clubs such as Manchester City and Arsenal have been touted as admirers, while Barcelona are also thought to be interested.
A new report from Mundo Deportivo claims Barcelona sent a scout to watch Palestra in action and that his versatility – he can play on both
sides of the defence – is appealing to the Catalans.
Any move for Palestra would presumably depend on Alejandro Balde or Jules Kounde moving on. There has been reports Barca are willing to listen to offers for both players, but no indication either wants to leave this summer.
Barcelona also have a decision to make on Joao Cancelo. It’s been reported that Barcelona want him to stay but only if they can secure him on a free transfer from Al-Hilal.
