After being fired by WWE, re-debuting with AEW, then learning there was a one-year non-compete in his WWE contract that the company would be enforcing… Andrade’s mostly done interviews.
In one with Sportskeeda
WrestleBinge today (Dec. 13), Andrade revealed that he just got word from his legal team that WWE will allow him to wrestle in Puerto Rico tonight.
“I’m so happy to be in Puerto Rico. I want to say thank you to my lawyer because he now has a letter from the WWE because we had problems with the no-compete for 12 months. Today, my lawyer texted me and told me, ‘Andrade, I have a letter, signed, that you can participate tonight in Puerto Rico in WWC. I can get back to the ring tonight.
“I’m so happy because after all these problems, not problems, but just what happens in life, I don’t know what to say. I want to be ready for tonight.”
The folks at WWC must have been confident in Andrade’s attorney, because they’ve been advertising El Idolo for a while…
Before you ask, Andrade says this doesn’t change his status with AEW. Whatever that is, seeing as he says he never signed a contract with Tony Khan before his one-night entry into The Don Callis Family on Dynamite…
“I hope I’m back soon to AEW. I don’t know when I’ll be back. For now, the letter is just for this show for Puerto Rico.”
Stay tuned.
