Our quick Cleveland Browns depth chart series comes to an end with the defensive end group. We started on the offensive side of the ball:
We followed that up with the defensive side of the ball:
Now we finish up with the group that had just one change, but it was the biggest change for the entire roster. Trading Myles Garrett while getting Jared Verse back made for an interesting one-for-one transaction, at least for this season. What about the room as a whole?

Browns Defensive End Expectations
Best Case Scenario
Verse is just a slight step down from Garrett while McGuire and Wright take the next step in their development. Can new DC Mike Rutenberg bring more pressure through schemes and games with Garrett out of the picture? Will the interior linemen continue to develop, making things easier on the outside guys? A few “yes” answers could see Cleveland’s defensive end room buoy itself at a similar level despite Garrett’s departure.
Worst Case Scenario
Garrett made McGuire look like a rotational pass rusher and helped Wright overcome his lack of bend just by his mere presence. The Browns made a strong bet that Garrett wasn’t the be-all, end-all of the defense, just the best part. If the defensive end room is unable to get pressure, which allows offenses to pick apart the rest of the defense, GM Andrew Berry’s seat could get very hot. A lot of pressure on Vese to take another step forward as a young player.
Browns Defensive End Roster
Improved or Worse Than 2025’s Version
Probably the easiest answer: Cleveland’s edge rusher group is worse without Garrett. Period. How much worse could decide the season’s trajectory.
What do you see when you look at the Browns’ DE room? Is there an addition to the depth chart you would like to see?
