When Michael Olise signed for Bayern Munich, few expected the meteoric rise to the top of football in such little time. Leading assists in Germany, Europe as well as in the World Cup, the Frenchman has left defenders and clubs in hot pursuit of him after only his second season in Munich. Real Madrid being the most notable club chasing Olise did not stop Uli Hoeneß from finding the rumors incredibly hilarious.
“I laughed my head off. He still has three years on his contract, so for me that’s not a topic
at all. The Emperor of China could come to us and we still wouldn’t talk to him [about Olise]. The same goes for Luis Díaz. We have the the best attacking trio in the world with Olise, Díaz and Kane. We wouldn’t think about selling any of them,” said Hoeneß after the pre-season friendly against Rottach-Egern (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Bayern Munich’s attacking trio had a phenomenal 2025-26 season shattering a 54-year-old record for most goals scored in the Bundesliga after netting a whopping 122 goals in just 34 games. Michael Olise has been the primary provider with 19 assists in the league and 7 assists in the UCL. Kylian Mbappé had a great connection with Olise in the World Cup and Madrid’s potential desperation surrounding the French playmaker is understandable.
Los Blancos after a two season trophy drought hired Jose Mourinho as their new gaffer. The special one was seen at the DFB Pokal final, with some speculating a scout watch by the Portuguese manager. But, as it stands, Bayern have no intention on cashing in on one of the most valuable players in the market.
