It’s time to start preparing for the 2026 Syracuse Orange football season. We’re going through the roster to take a look at each Syracuse player as we get to know a lot of new faces for Year 3 of the Fran Brown Era.
Up next is…
Name: Jartavius Flounoy
Position: Defensive line
Year: Sophomore
Height: 6’1”
Weight: 325 lbs.
Hometown: Moultrie, GA
High School/Previous College: Colquitt County High School/Georgia State
2025 stats: Finished with 22 tackles (13 solo, 9 assisted), three sacks, and one pass deflection
in his freshman year.
2026 projections: Flounoy will certainly see a role of some kind in his first season with the Orange. He’s among a handful of defensive linemen Syracuse brought in via the transfer portal. It’s also notable that he joined the program along with his former position coach, Jeremy Hawkins. I won’t pencil him as a guaranteed starter on day one, but Flounoy will most definitely play and could easily get there.
How’d he get here?: Initially committed to Georgia State over offers from Charleston Southern, Eastern Kentucky, Samford, UT Martin, and a handful of other smaller schools. He entered the transfer portal in December 2025 and committed to the Orange one month later.
What’d recruiting sites say?: Three stars on 247Sports, ESPN, and On3; three-star transfer per 247Sports

Interesting nugget o’interest: Flounoy is the latest notable football alum of Colquitt County High School. Other recent graduates include Minnesota Vikings safety Jay Ward, Carolina Panthers kicker Ryan Fitzgerald, and NFL offensive lineman Cameron Erving.
