There will be several changes and new faces in place for the Pittsburgh Steelers this season. With nearly an entirely new coaching staff and ten new draft picks joining the team, the Steelers will have a very different feel to them this season. However, the faces of their offense have remained the same with Aaron Rodgers, Jaylen Warren, and DK Metcalf.
CBS Sports made it clear they are not impressed with the Steelers’ current offensive core in their NFL “triplets” rankings. The panel of CBS analysts
ranked all 32 teams based on their current quarterback, running back, and top pass catcher, with the Steelers coming in at 27th.
“Rodgers again played extremely conservative football and essentially refused to get hit, firing short, quick passes all year long,” Jared Dubin wrote. “Jaylen Warren will split reps with Dowdle, but we kept Warren in the lead role here because he’s the more versatile player. Metcalf isn’t the best fit with Rodgers’ style of play, and he posted the second-fewest yards per game of his career last year.”
The CBS analysts seem to echo the same sentiment as a lot of people around the league concerning Aaron Rodgers. The writers seem concerned about how the soon-to-be 43-year-old will be able to push the ball downfield vertically this season. Rodgers recorded a 6.37 yard average depth of target last season, marking one of the lowest marks of his career.
The list began and ended with the AFC North, as the Cleveland Browns, who figure to be in rebuild mode, came in ranked 32nd. The Baltimore Ravens cracked the top 5, ranking 4th. The Cincinnati Bengals took the top spot on the rankings.
The Steelers’ offense figures to take a step forward in 2026 under McCarthy, who has a track record of producing top-flight NFL offenses. It will be up to Rodgers, Metcalf, and Warren to prove themselves as a quality offensive trio in 2026.
