The 2026 World Cup now has 6 teams left, as one half of the semifinals has been completed. France and Spain will face each other in the semifinals, while tomorrow we will see Norway take on England and Argentina battle Switzerland to try and advance to the other semifinal.
Before the quarterfinals began, we asked you to pick who you were rooting for the rest of the World Cup now that the USMNT is out, as part of SB Nation’s World Cup Reacts partnership with FanDuel. The results had an overwhelming
winner:
With 53% of the vote, Norway is the runaway pick of the Stars & Stripes FC community as the team they are cheering for to win it all. England, who play tomorrow, were second with 12% of the vote.
Morocco, who was eliminated on Thursday by France, was third with 9% of the vote, tied with Lionel Messi and Argentina. Kylian Mbappé and France had 8% of the vote, while Spain rounded out the voting with 6% of the vote. There wasn’t much love for Belgium, who was eliminated by Spain, or Switzerland, who have the daunting task of trying to take out the defending World Cup champions.
