The oldest ranch dog, Nya, turned 14 on Valentine’s Day. Despite her Border Collie and Austalian Sheperd genetics, she is completely useless for anything related to cattle. She’s quite scared of them actually.
So maybe she is a fierce protector of her home and humans?
Nope, she would help a would-be thief or kidnapper if they had treats.
She isn’t useful, but she is a very good girl. She got extra ear rubs for her golden birthday and it looks like she needs another upgrade in her food. As she gets older,
I’ve had to buy better dog foods to help her keep enough weight on. It will be a sad day when we have to dig her final resting spot on the ranch.
Do any of you have a dog (or another pet) that has lived longer than expected? Let me know in the comments!
