UC Santa Barbara redshirt junior Collin Smith is committing to Northwestern, per College Basketball Content.
A 6-foot-8 forward from Dallas, Texas, Smith heads to Evanston after a strong campaign at UCSB where he was a fixture in its rotation, starting in all 31 games while posting 11.9 points and 4.2 rebounds per contest. He’s known for his sharpshooting from deep, knocking down 40.5% from beyond the arc last season. A four-star recruit out of high school, Smith previously spent two seasons at Vanderbilt,
where he averaged 8.7 points in 2024-25.
Smith brings some much-needed offensive firepower and shooting prowess to the Wildcat offense. He marks the third transfer portal pickup for Chris Collins’ squad, joining Jack Karasinski and Luke McEldon.
