Lamine Yamal was on fire again on Saturday night as Barcelona ran out 5-2 winners against Real Betis in a thrilling game in La Liga.
The Barcelona teenager opened the scoring with a truly wonderful strike as he continued his brilliant current form for the Catalan giants.
Yamal was also involved when Real Betis went down to 10 men. Facundo Bernal was sent off after grabbing the teenager by the neck and then headbutting him.
Barca’s No. 10 was booked for his role in the incident, with Flick then opting
to take him off in the 70th minute. Flick was seen speaking to Yamal as he left the pitch and was asked after the game what he said.
“When I took Lamine Yamal off, I told him I was proud of him, but with this scoreline, I had to make the substitution,” he told reporters.
“Lamine today, also, when you see the first goal he scored. Unbelievable. So for me, at the moment, this is the best player in the world.
“So, I’m very happy with his performance. This is what I love to see. Of course he has a lot of pressure. He is 19 years old and he played so far nearly ever game, also with the national team, but he’s 100% focused and 100% committed with everything. This is really, good.
“It’s amazing, his performance and his attitude. This is how big, big players act.”
Yamal now has eight goals and six assists in just nine La Liga games so far this season.
