The Pittsburgh Steelers lost on Sunday and the Baltimore Ravens won. Baltimore is the new leader in the AFC North despite their 1-5 start while the Steelers have fallen completely out of the playoff picture.
Pittsburgh can still sneak into the final wild card spot with a Jaguars loss, I think. Jacksonville would fall behind the Texans in the AFC South, and th Steelers would slide up. We will update after the Sunday afternoon games.
Around the AFC, the New England Patriots won to solidify their spot in first place. The Denver Broncos were on a bye and remain two. The Indianapolis Colts lost but stay third.
In the wild card, the Buffalo Bills lost and fell from fifth to sixth behind the idle Los Angeles Chargers.
The Texans, Chiefs, and Steelers are all tied at 6-5.
AFC standings during Week 12
The Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers were on the bye this week along with the Miami Dolphins.
In the three-way tie at 6-5, the Chiefs are eliminated first because of a worse AFC record than Pittsburgh and Houston. The Steelers wins have come against teams with 29 total wins while the Texans’ wins have come against teams with a combined 28 wins. That can change very quickly.
