On Tuesday night in Cyprus, Bayern Munich throttled Pafos FC, 5-1. Harry Kane played the role of central attacking midfielder, yielding the striker position to newcomer Nicolas Jackson. In the first half,
Kane scored a brace to accompany the other goals scored by Raphaël Guerreiro and Jackson. Michael Olise added a fifth goal in the second half when the result was already in hand.
After the match, Kane celebrated another Player of the Match trophy.
“Good away win,” said Kane (via @iMiaSanMia). “We struggled away from home in the league phase last season. We wanted to make sure to keep the momentum going after the first game against Chelsea. Regarding myself, I keep saying that I’m going into games with confidence, knowing that I’ll get my chances. A couple more goals today, I’m happy with that.”
Kane has recorded multiple goals in five straight competitive matches, personally outscoring Hamburg, Chelsea, Hoffenheim, Werder Bremen, and Pafos.
Bayern is the only club in the top five European leagues to win every match this season.
Bayern Munich traveled to Cyprus to face a very feisty and game Pafos FC side in the Champions League and the game, well, went as expected.
The Bavarians dominated from start to finish and received another thoroughly dominant performance from the attacking group. And, yup, Harry Kane had a brace.
