According to reports from Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany Bayern Munich’s Honorary President, Uli Hoeneß, is pushing from the very top to prioritize player sales over loan deals. The players that he specifically wants to see gone on permanent deals are Joao Palhinha, Bryan Zaragoza, and Sacha Boey, but Armindo Sieb can also be sold.
Between the first and second teams, Bayern had 25 players on loan last season spread out between the top four leagues in Germany and various top flights throughout
Europe. Some players were sent for development opportunities but the above-mentioned players were likely never going to come back to Bayern after their loan deals. Hoeneß wants to be done with them and move on rather than keeping them on the payroll.
Will Bayern’s bosses listen to Hoeneß and sell players like Palihinha, Zaragoza, and Boey — potentially undervalued — or will they continue business as usual and send players like this on loan this season?
