
The journey down to 53 rolls on at Gillette Stadium.
The New England Patriots waived running back Terrell Jennings and tight end Gee Scott Jr. ahead of the NFL roster deadline on Tuesday.
The moves were first reported by Christopher Price of the Boston Globe and Mark Daniels of MassLive.
Jennings, 24, had been sidelined for back-to-back preseason games. The Florida A&M product landed in Foxborough as an undrafted tryout at rookie minicamp in 2024. After leading the team in rushing last August, he went
on to serve as an elevation from the practice squad and was promoted to the 53-man roster in December.
The 6-foot, 217-pound Jennings made three appearances for the backfield by regular season’s end. He logged 33 yards from scrimmage across 13 touches, handling 38 snaps on offense to go with 18 snaps in the kicking game.
Scott, 24, signed as part of the organization’s 2025 undrafted class in May. The 6-foot-3, 240-pound tight end saw 48 offensive snaps during his rookie preseason with New England.
A convert from the wide receiver room, Scott appeared in 52 games at Ohio State, where 16 starts an a national title arrived. His Buckeyes tenure brought 47 receptions for 393 yards and three touchdowns.
Active rosters will stand at 53 by 4 p.m. ET. The formation of practice squads around the league will follow after the claiming period for non-vested veterans ends at 12 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
