The Seattle Seahawks have a crucial Week 18 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday evening in a winner take all battle that will decide both first place in the NFC West and the top seed in the NFC.
In the wake of the Seahawks offense struggling at times and failing to perform at the level it did during the first half of the season, some fans have hypothesized that a postseason return from injured reserve for rookie fifth-round pick wide receiver Tory Horton could give the offense the spark and juice it has been lacking at times in recent weeks.
However, according to Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald, Horton won’t be back this season.
The fact that the Seahawks traded a pair of Day 3 picks to the New Orleans Saints for Rashid Shaheed less than 48 hours after Horton got banged up against the Washington Commanders in Week 9 may have been a clue that Horton wouldn’t be back in action quickly.
In any case, it’s on to the San Francisco 49ers for Week 18 for the Seahawks, and for Horton it’s on to the offseason with fellow wide receiver Cody White.
