After Cashius Howell earned the honor last week, the Aggies went back-to-back as Albert Regis was selected as the SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week. The senior defensive tackle was a force for the A&M defense as he recorded 7 tackles, 1 TFL, and was credited with a sack on a CJ Carr intentional grounding.
Per PFF, Regis played 50 of A&M’s 72 defensive snaps and earned the team’s second-highest run defense grade with a 76.4 (behind TJ Searcy’s 79.7). For the season, he leads the team with an 85.0 run defense grade.
After a spectacular performance against Notre Dame, Mario Craver was named the national Player of the Week by the Associated Press. Craver scored A&M’s first points of the game as he took a short pass from Marcel Reed 86 yards for a touchdown. He continued to dice up the Irish secondary with big plays as he racked up up 7 total catches for 207 yards, including hauling in a 34-yard strike from Reed on A&M’s final drive of the game.
The sophomore wideout has been nothing short of phenomenal through the first three games of the season. Craver has gone over 100 yards in each game this season and has reached the end zone four times. To top it all off, Mario Craver currently leads the nation in receiving yards with 443. The sky is the limit for #1.
