It is time, once again, for us to take the pulse of Minnesota Vikings fans by asking a question that is pertinent to our favorite team, and we’re getting an early jump on this one because it has to do with this Saturday’s preseason opener.
On Saturday at noon Central time, our favorite team will take to the field for the first time since
January when they take on the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium. We want to know how much you think the starters should play in this preseason opener.
In past years, Kevin O’Connell has basically given the starters the preseason off, and I’d be absolutely stunned if we saw Justin Jefferson and a handful of other big-name players suit up on Saturday afternoon. Still, with the team in the throes of a quarterback competition, it would behoove them to put the starting offense on the field for at least a little while, at least, I would think. There are a few new faces on defense that need to get integrated into the system as well, so the front-line defense should probably see a bit of action as well.
So, how long do you think the starters should see the field on Saturday, folks? A series? Two? Three? Even more than that?
