Bayern Munich fans tuning in to watch the Bavarians take on FC Augsburg were already having a rough afternoon, and then Fandango decided to make things even worse.
The streaming service crashed during the second-half of the match, leaving viewers unable to follow the action at a particularly frustrating moment. Fans missed a Luis Díaz goal that was subsequently ruled offside, causing mass confusion about what was actually happening.
Unfortunately, that was not the end of the misery. While viewers were
dealing with technical difficulties, Augsburg’s Ismaël Saibari found the back of the net with a goal that actually counted. For supporters trying to follow Bayern Munich’s latest Bundesliga outing, missing a disallowed goal was bad enough; missing an actual goal that put their team in trouble was an entirely different level of aggravation.
Between Bayern Munich’s early defensive problems and Fandango’s apparent inability to keep the broadcast running, Saturday’s viewing experience has become an exercise in frustration. Fans signed up to watch football, not stare at a frozen screen while the match carried on without them.
Bayern Munich supporters certainly did not need another reason to be annoyed, but Fandango provided one anyway.
The feed is back up, which is good news — fingers crossed that it stays that way.
