The Utah Jazz were one of the biggest surprises in the NBA’s opening slate of games, trouncing the Clippers by 21 points in an ultra efficient win on Wednesday night.
The Jazz got a little bit of help from
everyone. Lauri Markkanen, Walker Kessler and Brice Sensabaugh all scored 20-plus points, while point guards Keyonte George and Walt Clayton Jr. combined for 14 assists and only five turnovers.
Now, Utah will go on the road for the first time this season, to face a Sacramento Kings team that finds itself once again without a sense of direction on Friday.
The Kings held a 17-point halftime lead against the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday, but couldn’t capitalize off of their hot shooting in the first half. The Suns rallied back to win 120-116, in a night that Kings fans would like to forget. Damontas Sabonis missed game one with a hamstring injury, while veterans Zach Lavine and Demar Derozan combined for 59 points in the loss.
Sabonis is questionable for Friday night’s game against the Jazz.
