The Los Angeles Rams assembled their practice squad on Monday and immediately made a change to it on Tuesday, signing linebacker Jamie Sheriff. Undrafted in 2024, Sheriff has yet to make an active NFL roster out of camp, but is hoping that the Rams will be his sweet spot after years of trying.
Sheriff went undrafted out of South Alabama and signed a contract with the Panthers. After failing to make the team, Sheriff was placed on the practice squad and played in one game with Carolina, prior to being waived and then picked up by the Seahawks and put on their practice squad in 2024. Sheriff had some preseason success, leading to a belief he might make the team in either 2025 or 2026, but so far he has been unsuccessful.
He made one tackle with Seattle in 2025. He has been moved at times between outside linebacker and inside linebacker.
Sheriff is a good athlete and looking to compete in a room that just added undrafted free agent Wesley Bailey to the 53-man roster as training camp’s biggest surprise. Now he’ll get to observe Myles Garrett up close. Could Sheriff get his shot?
