It’s Monday, and we are back at it! Fresh off a weekend of football games, there was a lot of action! News will continue to come your way, and we are here for it all. Check out our original coverage and what
we can find from the World Wide Web below.
Aggies top Spartans
In a battle of top offenses, this one was a lower-scoring affair than many anticipated. It was a close game, with San Jose State actually leading at one point in the fourth quarter. However, the Aggies were able to prevail thanks to two late field goals. The Spartans’ offense put up more yards than Utah State’s. But ultimately, Bryson Barnes was too much. He put up 326 passing yards and 54 rushing yards, with a touchdown through the air and on the ground.
Broncos blow out Rebels
For the first half, this one was close, and it was easy to see how UNLV has hung around in past games to pull out wins. But this game, the Broncos kept their foot on the pedal, scoring eight touchdowns for 56 points on the day while holding the Rebels to 7 in the second half to turn a close game into a dominant win. Boise State had some self-inflicted wounds in all three phases, but the positives outweighed the negatives with a plethora of explosive plays on offense, a pick-six on defense, and even a fake punt pass for a first down on special teams. The Broncos hand the Rebels their first loss of the season.
Falcons finally get a win.
In a reversal of sorts, the Air Force offense was relatively kept at bay, but the defense had one of its best showings of the season. Or perhaps that was due to the skill sets and deficiencies of Wyoming. The Cowboy defense came to play, keeping the Falcons to a mere six first-half points and largely keeping freshman phenom Liam Szarka in check through the air. On the ground was a different story as Szarka led the way with 141 rushing yards, part of a ground attack that totaled 330 yards. The AFA defense, a sore spot all season, held the Cowboys to 21 points and got a goal-line interception late in the game.
Rainbow Warriors going bowling.
It’s been a long climb back to six wins for this Hawaii program. Timmy Chang and Co endured dark days and a full on rebuild, finally getting their offense going the way they want. That was on full display during this game, scoring 31 points and keeping Colorado State at bay most of the game. The Rainbow Warriors have been awarded with a sixth victory on the season, meaning they are going bowling for the first time in the Chang era and the first time since 2020.
