The Arizona Cardinals are going to see if they can build their own reclamation project.
The team is signing former top 10 pick Jedrick Wills Jr. off the Buffalo Bills practice squad to attempt to replace the injured Paris Johnson Jr.
Wills has been a bust thus far, in his first three seasons, he played 15 games (in 16 possible), 13 games (in 17 possible) and then 17 games, before chronic injuries cost him most of his 2023 and 2024 season.
By 2025, Wills would have to sit the entire season in order to heal from persistent knee and surgery related issues, with regards to an MCL tear.
Now, Wills will join the Cardinals off the Bills practice squad, and the Cardinals will see if they can follow a similar path… rising from the ashes.
The Cardinals currently sit at 1-3 and have a gauntlet of a schedule left. So, if they are going to compete, they will need Wills to not only regain his form, but play better than he has in any point of his career.
The funny thing is, Wills is only 27 and if the knee was really hindering him to the point of needing a year away, maybe he can find something here.
Welcome to the desert, Jedrick and good luck on your return to the league.
