One of the top junior college players in the country announced his commitment to the TCU baseball program on Monday. Midland College catcher Caleb Eagar, who slashed .436/.520/.834 with 22 home runs, 51 extra-base hits and 92 RBIs over 65 games during the 2026 season, will join the Horned Frogs. Eagar has a chance to play right away, as TCU lost its top two catchers, Nolan Traeger and Brady Dallimore, to the transfer portal.
Eagar, a freshman from Fort Worth, totaled 105 hits in his first junior college season. The 6-foot, 230-pounder had just one error in 65 games, logging a .997 fielding percentage with 317 putouts and 30 assists on 348 total chances. Eager is the fourth player in recent days to commit to the Horned Frogs, joining Mount St. Mary’s pitcher JB Manarchuck, Rhode Island pitcher Manny Santos and McNeese pitcher Jaden Bahl.
