The New York Giants “worked through” Jaxson Dart’s recent decision to introduce President Donald Trump at Rockland Community College last week in Suffern, N.Y., during a team meeting, according to NFL Network insiders Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport.
Dart’s choice, as Giants fans know, drew public criticism from teammate Abdul Carter and inflamed tensions among fans along both sides in a country bitterly divided by its politics.
“Thought this s— was AI, what we doing man,” Carter wrote on X.
He then
made sure to say there was no issue between him and Dart.
“Me and JD6 are good! We spoke earlier as Men,” Carter wrote on X. “Yall can keep yall narratives.”
It seems that almost everyone with a platform has an opinion, some supporting Dart’s right to do what he wants and others blasting the 23-year-old for an unforced error that could potentially divide the locker room. I made my feelings on the situation clear earlier this week.
Veterans Brian Burns, Kayvon Thibodeaux and Jameis Winston also spoke in the meeting, per a separate NFL Network report from Rapoport. Veteran right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor recently took to social media to say the locker room was “fine” after the controversy.
Media, including Big Blue View, has access to Friday’s OTA. The topic is certain to come up.
