New Orleans Saints Training Camp is in its very early stages, but already, one player has stood out. Kool-Aid McKinstry had a really great Day 1, leading to the media and players singing his praises throughout the day. For the Saints, improvement for McKinstry is arguably one of the most important factors for this team. The CB group is young and unproven, and if the Saints want to stay in games, they need these players to step up. If McKinstry proves to be a high-level CB1 in the NFL, the Saints could
be a playoff team this season.
Hopefully, this upward trajectory can continue, but a small roadblock has popped up. Today during practice, McKinstry left early with an ankle injury, per Nick Underhill.
The good news is this seems like a precautionary move by Kellen Moore and McKinstry should be fine, but ankles are something to pay attention to. If McKinstry is perfectly fine at next practice and it seems like there are zero injury worries, then great, but ankle injuries can pop up again and become annoying for the players.
At practice, the rest of the defense did have a good day, and Quincy Riley even intercepted Tyler Shough.
