Buffalo Bills training camp is just around the corner, set for the end of July once again at St. John Fisher University in quaint Pittsford, NY. It’s a known fact that training camp ushers in a wall of hype for NFL fans ready to wave goodbye to the offseason.
For the Bills, it also
serves as the first significant on-field action since former head coach Sean McDermott was let go by co-owner Terry Pegula. That right, Buffalo enters the 2026 NFL season with a new, first-time head coach in Joe Brady, and a new, first-time NFL defensive coordinator in Jim Leonhard. With that comes plenty of questions — namely, whether or not the pair will be successful where McDermott failed.
There’s no denying that McDermott got the most out of his rosters in the regular season, but the team was often short-handed and in over their heads come playoff time unless quarterback Josh Allen played near-flawless football. Obviously, that’s not a sustainable goal and it’s a big reason McDermott’s no longer in charge.
With so much organizational change, what awaits this year’s team? What position groups are you most interested in watching come training camp?
Quarterback, running back, and tight end are three positions that may not hold tons of surface intrigue thanks to undisputed leaders in each room. But what about the battles at wide receiver and even within the offensive line room?
Or is it the defense where you’ll focus most of your attention, either among the interior defensive line, or perhaps outside linebacker/edge rusher, inside linebacker, or perhaps the wide-ranging group of defensive backs?
