Barcelona have confirmed that Juliano Belletti will continue as Barcelona Atletic coach and has penned a new contract with the club.
Belletti’s side narrowly missed out on promotion last season but did see plenty of key players miss chunks of the season through injury and be called up to the first team.
Barcelona and Belletti have now reached agreement on the coach’s future, with the 49-year-old penning a deal to stay on for another 12 months.
Here’s the club’s official statement:
“FC Barcelona announces
that Juliano Belletti will continue in charge of Barça Atlètic next season after renewing his contract with the Club. The Brazilian coach, who joined the Youth Football structure in 2023 as assistant coach of the Juvenil A, will serve a second season with the Barça reserve team.
“In his first year at the helm of the reserve team, he fulfilled the objectives of training and projecting the players, with many of them appearing in the first team and giving prominence to youth players. During the season, 21 players made their debut with Barça Atlètic, many of them youth players. In total, 42 players participated in the season.
“In this way, Belletti will continue to lead the project of a team that serves as the last step before the leap to professional football.”
There will be changes at Barca Atletic over the summer but Belletti will still be working with some exciting talents.
Hamza Abdelkarim will be part of his squad next season along with exciting youngsters such as Ebrima Tunkara and Ibrahim Diarra.
