Bayern Munich academy graduate Arijon Ibrahimović is back on campus. Now with the senior team, the 20-year-old could not be happier for the chance to play for Bayern.
“I want to prove myself here, establish myself, and play as many minutes as possible,” Ibrahimović stated in comments captured by Az journalist Maximilian Koch (via @iMiaSanMia). “I’m absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to play for the biggest club in the world.”
Per Koch, Ibrahimović has already been informed of the club’s plans
to deploy him in the Bayern attack as the first backup to Luis Díaz.
Ibrahimović has had mixed spells in his last few seasons, spent on loan at Frosinone, Lazio, and Heidenheim, respectively. Last season’s spell at Heidenheim finally saw him grab a consistent place in the squad. Now the challenge will be to continue his development arc while playing less. Still, there are few platforms more enviable than Vincent Kompany’s high-powered Bayern attack.
