Barcelona’s newest signing officially completed his move on Tuesday as Jesse Bisiwu signed a five-year deal at the club’s offices along with president Joan Laporta.
The 18-year-old joins from Club Brugge on a deal worth €8.5 million and will begin the season at Barça Atlètic while working regularly with the first team group throughout the campaign.
Bisiwu spoke to the club’s media after the signing and once again made it clear he’s there to work,
learn and earn Hansi Flick’s trust.
“My first few days have been great. I’ve been welcomed by a wonderful family and I’m very grateful for that. They’ve welcomed me so warmly, everyone is so friendly, and I’m very thankful.
“Being here and seeing it for myself is a different feeling, I’m very happy to be here. When I was young I always dreamed of playing for a big club like Barça, so being here is a dream come true for me.
“Hansi has welcomed me very well, we’ve had a few talks and it’s very easy to understand what I have to do this year: work very hard and learn as much as possible.
“Everyone has been very attentive, and I’m very grateful. This season I will work hard and give my best, and we’ll see how the season goes. I want to give my all for this badge. When the coach needs me, I’ll be there; I just want to work hard to be ready.”
Great stuff from a youngster who seems to have the right mentality and is ready to work and earn his spot. This is a future project, but the future could be very bright indeed.
Welcome, Jesse!
