Chivas continued their great Clausura 2026 run by once again claiming the first spot after dispatching a terrible Leon side. Chivas dominated from end to end and should have had even more goals but they had a number of terrible misses. They are playing some of the best football if not the best although they have done so against poor teams. The Leon side they faced on Wednesday was flat out pathetic, which produced a single opportunity and it came in injury time of the 2nd half. Chivas will have a tougher match up when they travel north on Saturday to face off against Monterrey but even though Monterrey are normally a team that fights for the title, they are struggling after getting eliminated on Tuesday from the CONCACAF Champions Cup. Leon will also play an away match against Atletico San Luis, where they expected new coach, Javier Gandolfi, to have his debut with the team.
