Match Preview
Everton are back in action and back at the Hill Dickinson Stadium after a demoralizing 2-0 defeat last weekend away at Chelsea. The task does not get any easier though, with the league leaders (as of this
morning) Arsenal visiting this evening.
David Moyes’ task has gotten immeasurably more difficult this festive season with Idrissa Gueye and Iliman Gueye now departed for the Africa Cup of Nations, and in-form Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall picking up an injury that could see him miss a few games. There is some relief on the way though with summer signing Merlin Rohl on his way back, but on the whole the small squad is at threadbare levels now with the Blues having to delve into the Under-21 squad just to make up the matchday numbers.
Arsenal have faltered in recent games with a draw and a defeat in their last five, allowing Manchester City to reel them in and overtake them at the top of the table. Mikel Arteta will want to remedy that at Everton’s new home.
