Michael Olise had one of his best seasons in a Bayern Munich shirt in only his second year with the club. With 22 goals and 31 assists and a domestic double under his belt, he has been one of Bayern’s most valuable players and there have been calls for him to win the Ballon d’Or, with France and Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira hopping on the hype train.
“We had Michel Platini, we had Zinedine Zidane and I strongly believe we have now Michael Olise. I think he’s a future Ballon d’Or winner,” Vieira said
(ITV Football as captured by X account @iMiaSanMia). “He’s got all the attributes to shine on the big stage.”
Vieira was manager of Crystal Palace from 2021 to 2023, so he got to watch Olise play on the pitch. The 50-year-old probably saw flashes of brilliance from Olise during his tenure as Palace coach so he can vouch for Olise when it comes to the Ballon d’Or.
Olise was named Man of the Match in France’s 3-1 win over Senegal in the World Cup.
