UFC 322 is less than 24 hours away …
It all goes down this weekend (Sat., Nov. 15, 2025) inside Madison Square Garden in New York City. In the main event, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Welterweight
champion, Jack Della Maddalena, is set to make his first-ever title defense as he collides with former Lightweight kingpin, Islam Makhachev.
Regardless, we have a weekly series here at MMAmania.com called “Weekend Lock,” where we share one bet that we predict will slap in the “Big Apple” when the chaotic dust settles. We also want to hear what our readers think (that’s you!), so tell us your most confident UFC 322 betting lock in the comments section below (full UFC 322 odds here).
Last week’s recap: Our UFC Vegas 111 pick smacked as Uros Medic vs. Muslim Salikhov delivered an early finish, cashing the Under 1.5 rounds (watch highlights). Let’s roll that momentum into this monster pay-per-view.
Time to keep on, keeping on below:
In UFC 322’s co-main event, women’s Flyweight “G.O.A.T.,” Valentina Shevchenko, will put her title on the line against former women’s Strawweight roost-ruler, Zhang Weili, who is moving up to fight for a second title.
This week, I’m locking in Shevchenko vs. Zhang to “Go the Distance” at -250.
Here’s why:
Both women are extraordinarily durable, historically disciplined and rarely finish elite opponents at this stage of their careers. For example, Shevchenko hasn’t scored a finish in more than four years, with her last stoppage win coming against Lauren Murphy in 2021 (watch highlights). Even in competitive exchanges, she has shown exceptional defense, absorbing very little damage and rarely being in true danger … except against Alexa Grasso (watch highlights).
Zhang, meanwhile, is one of the most physically gifted athletes in the sport, but she also hasn’t produced a stoppage since her submission over Carla Esparza back in 2022 (watch highlights). Her last two title defenses — Amanda Lemos and Yan Xiaonan — went the full 25 minutes, and she has shown an increasingly measured approach that prioritizes control, conditioning and long-game tactics over wild bursts of aggression.
Stylistically, this has all the markings of a highly technical, competitive, back-and-forth championship fight. And there is an argument that this is the best women’s title fight ever, at least on paper. Both women have only been stopped once inside the Octagon, so expect 25 minutes for this one
With two ultra-durable, championship-caliber athletes who tend to fight conservatively in high-stakes moments, the “Go the Distance” prop at -250 feels extremely safe. And for what it’s worth, I’m picking Zhang to win outright as the underdog, but it’s most likely happening on the scorecards.
What could go wrong?
Both women do possess fight-ending ability when opportunities arise. Zhang has explosive power, and Shevchenko’s counter-striking is lethal when opponents get reckless. If either fighter chooses to take bigger risks early — or if cardio falters late — finishing potential absolutely exists. But, based on recent trends and durability profiles, the over remains the sharpest play.
Still, Shevchenko vs. Zhang to “Go the Distance” at -250 stands out as one of the most reliable locks on UFC 322’s action-packed slate.
