Raul Rosas Jr. is getting a sizable step up in competition.
The former Contender Series winner is set to face Rob Font at the upcoming Noche UFC 3 card scheduled on Sept. 13 in San Antonio.
UFC officials announced the pairing on Wednesday.
After debuting as a teenager in his octagon debut, Rosas has posted a 5-1 record overall, including a current four-fight win streak. His lone blemish came in his second UFC appearance after falling to Christian Rodriguez but Rosas quickly bounced back with his next
four wins in a row.
Following a victory over Vince Morales back in March. Rosas called for a ranked opponent with hopes that he could begin his climb towards title contention. Now he’ll get his wish against a veteran like Font, who has competed inside the top 15 rankings for most of his UFC career.
Font comes into the fight off back-to-back wins over Jean Matsumoto and Kyler Phillips with a ton of experience on his resume. During his UFC career, Font has faced three former UFC champions and a long list of top contenders but now he’ll take on a rising star in Rosas when they clash in September.
The upcoming Noche UFC 3 card is headlined by a featherweight fight between one-time title challenger Diego Lopes when he faces Jean Silva in a five-round fight.
