One game does not define a season, but Rams fans have every right to feel frustrated after what unfolded in Melbourne.
The Los Angeles Rams entered Week 1 with high expectations, only to deliver a disappointing performance against the San Francisco 49ers. When a team struggles in multiple areas, the head coach is naturally going to face questions, and Sean McVay is no exception.
McVay has earned the benefit of the doubt throughout his tenure in Los Angeles. His track record includes a Super Bowl championship,
multiple playoff appearances and a reputation as one of the NFL’s best offensive minds. However, expectations have changed. Rams fans are no longer simply hoping for playoff football —they expect this team to win a championship come February.

If Garrett’s knee issues were already a concern in July, some fans may question why the situation wasn’t addressed more aggressively before the regular season. Seeing an important player deal with the consequences now can make those earlier decisions easier to scrutinize.
