MJF had a Rick Rude moment on Saturday night. It began on AEW Collision, taped in Philadelphia, with bad news of Mark Briscoe’s stipulation for the PPV bout at All Out. A few hours later, MJF had a surprise appearance on the live broadcast of MLW Fightland in Dallas.
Cameras caught MJF giving a pep talk to Dynasty bro Alexander Hammerstone. MJF still has love for Hammerman, however, he had to deliver a hard truth. While MJF is at the top of the business, Hammerstone has become a court jester. MJF believes
that Hammer is still the best big man in professional wrestling today, and it makes him sick to see something holding Hammerstone back. MJF offered advice to embrace the hate.
Hammerstone reflected on his recent struggles to question if his best days are behind him. The flow of conversation continued about how maybe it is time to stop loving pro wrestling. MJF sensed where this was going, and a smile crept across his face. Hammerstone wondered if it is time to start hating the business. Hammer showed renewed enthusiasm to kick ass. They are Dynasty, bro.
Hammerstone backed up his words in a Texas Death match against Matthew Justice. Justice had the top highlight of the match leaping from the second level for a flying splash onto Hammer through a table.
Another angle. Sound on.
It was Hammerstone who took the win. He dished out plenty of pain and power offense.
In the end, Hammerstone delivered a low blow then tackled Justice through a table in the corner. A vicious Nightmare Pendulum finished the job. This victory could be the momentum Hammerstone needs to get back to the top.
The full Texas Death match is available for free viewing on the Fightland video from MLW’s YouTube channel.
