In what is an incredible gesture, the German national team players, in conjunction with the DFB, have organized shuttle buses for fans headed to the game in East Rutherford, New Jersey (New York City metro area) vs. Ecuador on June 25th (4PM at MetLife Stadium).
The buses are available to German national team fan club members and will be determined through a drawing. Led by captain and Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich, the team wanted to help fans offset the ridiculous travels costs put in place
for the tournament. Sky Germany provided the details:
Great move by the DFB players! 👏
↪️ A few weeks ago, there was media buzz about the outrageous prices of public transport in New York. After massive criticism of the transport costs, the transit company NJ Transit had lowered the price for the 30-minute train ride from Manhattan to MetLife Stadium in New Jersey and back from 150 to 105 US dollars (about 90 euros). Still an insane amount compared to prices in Germany.
👉 According to information from Sky Sport, the players, led by captain Joshua Kimmich in the team council, decided for this reason to support the fans.
↪️ In the third group match in New York against Ecuador, the team will cover the travel costs to the game for some supporters. An email with all the info went out last week to the National Team fan club and all members. A draw will be held among the fans. For a large portion of the 4000 fans, the national players, together with the DFB, have organized shuttle buses.

This is an outstanding move by the German national team and while it will not help everyone, it will — at least — reduce costs for those fans whose names are drawn.
