The Cleveland Browns and Minnesota Vikings face off in a Week 5 game in the United Kingdom. For the Vikings, playing the first-ever NFL game in Ireland in Week 4, then staying overseas for Week 5, their third game in London in four years, has become all about their injuries. For the “home team” Browns, the schedule and plan in England is one they feel good about
based on the stability and seclusion together.Cleveland has a few injury concerns as well, as the Ohio team visits London for just the second
time, the first was in 2017 against this Minnesota team.
Browns fans have made their presence known throughout the week in England. From double-decker tour bus events and trivia night being sold out in minutes to over 1,000 fans taking over a huge bar, the orange and brown have been well represented in London:
While 1,000 is a nice round number, based on the amount of Browns gear we saw at the bar, on the way to the bar and in the city, Paul Brown (yes, that is his name) might be underexaggerating his estimate:
Not only did fans show up, but Brown, the unofficial official host for Cleveland fans this week, also had some of the team’s legends in the house:
Saturday night continues the fun with an Ultimate Backers’ Bash, then three different tailgates, after the first sold out at Redemption Brewery, on Sunday.
Needless to say, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium might have a wave of orange and brown colors through it Sunday morning (Ohio)/afternoon (London) with a whole lot of barking. Those fans are hoping they will not only enjoy and remember this time in England for the pregame festivities but also for the play of the Browns in Week 5 versus the Vikings.
How surprised are you that Browns fans have turned out so strongly despite the team’s 1-3 start? Does the turnout make you more or less likely to want to travel to the next international game Cleveland plays?
