Jake Paul made it to the sixth round in his fight against Anthony Joshua before getting knocked out, but the Youtuber turned boxer was well on his way to a lopsided decision loss prior to the finish.
On
Monday, the Florida Athletic Commission shared the scorecard for the Paul vs. Joshua fight with MMA Fighting, which showed the round-by-round scoring for the heavyweight matchup. The three judges scoring the fight were David Sutherland, Steve Weisfeld and Michael Tate.
All three judges scored every round for Joshua, including a consensus 10-7 round in the fifth after he delivered multiple knockdowns on Paul. The final round also shows a 10-7 score but that ultimately didn’t matter with Joshua delivering a jaw-breaking knockout with a vicious right hand that ended Paul’s night.
Following the conclusion of the fight, Paul was still happy with his performance and even went as far as claiming he took at least two rounds on the scorecards.
“Actually, I won two rounds, then he won two, then I got dropped,” Paul said on his brother Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast. “But yeah, I was doing good. I just think my cardio, the mental pressure of the big guy, and sparring the big people, is different than the 10-ounce gloves. So I was feeling his power more. But it was great experience. I learned a lot in there.”
Unfortunately the judges disagreed with Paul and scored all five rounds for Joshua prior to the knockout in the sixth.
The knockout ultimately broke Paul’s jaw in two places with the Ohio native undergoing surgery afterwards to repair the damage done.
The loss dropped Paul to 12-2 in his career with his only other setback coming via split decision in a fight against Tommy Fury in 2023. As for Joshua, the knockout got him back on track after falling to Daniel Dubois in his previous performance and he’s been teasing a potential showdown against Tyson Fury in 2026.
