After a 41-23 road win over Colorado State, BYU moved up 2 spost to 9 in the latest AP Poll released Sunday. This is the first time BYU has been ranked in the top 10 of the AP Poll in September since 2009. It’s also the third straight season BYU has been ranked in the poll’s top 10. BYU is one of four Big 12 teams ranked along with Texas Tech (11), Utah (15), and Houston (25).
BYU now has a bye week before travelling to TCU October. The Horned Frogs are 2-1 and play at UCF next Saturday. BYU has games
at TCU and home at Iowa State October 9 before hosting Notre Dame October 17. Notre Dame will be heavily favored in their three games before travelling to Provo, so if BYU can win their next two games then both teams will likely be undefeated in what would be a top 10 matchup. There’s a real chance College Gameday would be in town for that matchup.
But first, BYU will clean things up in a bye week and get ready for a tricky road game at TCU, a place where BYU historically struggles and lost their last trip in 2023.
