With Washington Spirit defender Kate Wiesner ruled out due to a minor calf issue stemming from NWSL preseason training, Houston Dash defender Avery Patterson will now replace her on the USWNT roster for the 2026 SheBelieves Cup.
Patterson was initially on the 2026 January camp roster for the first two matches of the year in California, but would be later replaced due to illness. The defender is fully recovered and will join the team in Nashville, today.
Internationally, the 2025 NWSL Defender of the Year
finalist has earned nine caps and scored a goal – header versus the Republic of Ireland.
