Real Madrid returned from San Sebastián with all three points after a tense 2-1 victory over Real Sociedad on Saturday night. It was a game that tested the team’s resilience, with Los Blancos playing more than an hour with ten men. After the final whistle, Kylian Mbappé and Aurélien Tchouaméni shared their thoughts on the hard-fought win.
Mbappé, who scored one and assisted another, emphasized both the difficulty of the match and the importance of collective effort:
“The red card changed the game a bit.
We struggled as a team, but we’re coming back with the three points.”
“I want to give 100 percent for the jersey. I scored a goal that was my style, but the team gave everything so I could play well. The assist made me very happy and was very important, because with that second goal we won the game. The start to the season has been very good, and so has mine.”
Tchouaméni, speaking to RMTV, reflected on the spirit required to grind out the result against a dangerous opponent:
“We know that playing against Real Sociedad is always very difficult. It was tough because we played for over an hour with ten players, but we showed commitment and we’re returning to Madrid with a victory.”
“We couldn’t keep the ball all the time; we had to defend more with ten men against a quality team. We fought as a team.”
The midfielder also reflected on his personal journey with Real Madrid and his ambitions for the season, as tonight marked his 150th game for the club:
“It’s a dream to play for Real Madrid. I enjoy every day with my teammates, and we’re going for more matches, wins, and titles.”
“With hard work, everything turns out well. I want to win lots of titles, and with the team we have this season, we’re doing very well.”
Tchouaméni was also quick to praise his compatriot Mbappé, whose impact proved decisive at Anoeta:
“Mbappé is an incredible kid and he’s at an incredible level now. With him, we know we have a chance to win a lot of games.”
