Here are the San Francisco 49ers injury updates after their Week 4 win against the Denver Broncos:
S Marques Sigle (ankle)
FB Kyle Juszczyk (knee)
CB Upton Stout (shoulder)
Sigle returned to the game, but left again after suffering an injury on a kickoff.
Kyle Shanahan said, “We don’t know for sure,” about Juszczyk’s injury. “They’re thinking it’s probably a knee sprain. His ACL and stuff looked intact. We’ll find out for sure tomorrow.”
As for Stout, Shanahan said, “We’re guessing an AC [sprain], but
we won’t know for sure until tomorrow.”
The team is unsure about the specifics of Stout’s shoulder injury. All three players will have MRIs on Monday.
Linebacker Fred Warner dealt with stomach pain during the first half, but he returned.
Mike Evans made it through the game after dealing with a rib injury all week. Shanahan said Evans wasn’t on a specific pitch count, “But we knew how much pain he was in. So we were just trying to limit the percentage of hits he has to take.”
Shanahan said he didn’t think it was possible for Evans to play throughout the whole week, going as far as saying he wasn’t counting on Evans. “The way he was at walk-through on Friday, I knew how much pain he was in. But he never grimaced, never changed his stride. It was really, really impressive today what he did.”
