Yesterday, the NBA announced that Spurs guard De’Aaron Fox was named to the 2025 Emirates NBA Cup All-Tournament Team. Fox and the Spurs pulled a 5-2 record in the tournament.
Fox led all Spurs in scoring,
assists and steals in six Cup games appearances averaging 22.3 points, 7.7 assists and 2.00 steals per game. He also added 3.2 rebounds while shooting 39.5% from long distance, as well as 84.0% from the free throw line.
“Swipa” led the Silver and Black to back-to-back road wins in Portland and Denver to earn a 3-1 record to win West Group C and advance to the knockout round of the NBA Cup without the help of Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle, the last two Rookie of the Year recipients.
The former Sacramento King has been all smiles since joining San Antonio late last season. He only played in 17 games wih San Antonio before being sidelined by a torn tendon in his left pinky finger. He also missed the start of this season due to a right hamstring injury.
Since joining the team on the court, he’s showcased his leadership and ability to take over games, reminding fans why is known as Mr. Clutch.
