Mistico did it again. El Rey de Plata y Oro won the MLW Opera Cup tournament for the second year in a row.
Mistico battled Volador Jr. in the Opera Cup final at the MLW x Don Gato event (Nov. 20, 2025). These luchadores are familiar foes from over the years in CMLL. On this night, Mistico was the popular hero, while Volador was in the role of cheating scoundrel.
Down the stretch, Mistico scored an avalanche hurricanrana. Volador came back for a superkick and a backstabber. Mistico rallied for a springboard
crossbody and La Mistica armbar to win. Mistico celebrated in the ring with Cesar Duran (alias Dario Cueto), Don Gato, and tequila.
In 2024, Mistico beat Magnus, Atlantis Jr., Bad Dude Tito, and Kenta through the course of the tournament to win the Opera Cup. In 2025, Mistico’s journey included wins Ikuro Kwon, Ultimo Guerrero, Austin Aries, and Volador Jr. to repeat as Opera Cup champion.
