Week 1 of the 2025 college football season has come and gone. What a week it was.
The #8 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide suffered another road loss to an unranked team under Kalen DeBoer, this time to FSU. #3 Ohio State defended their home field against preseason #1 Texas and Arch Manning in a low scoring contest to begin last weekend’s trio of top ten matchups. #9 LSU upset #4 Clemson on the road on Saturday night in a battle of Tigers and Death Valleys. On Sunday night, #10 Miami pulled out a close
win at home over #10 Notre Dame. That is how college football seasons should always begin!

There was a lot of movement in the top ten with the three big Week 1 matchups. The biggest overall riser in the poll was FSU, which rose from unranked to #14. Iowa State climbed six spots, from #22 to #16. LSU also jumped six spots, going from #9 to #3. Lastly, the Miami Hurricanes come in at #5, up from #10 last week. Alabama fell the furthest, falling thirteen spots, from #8 to #21. Week 2 only has one top 25 matchup: #15 Michigan at #18 Oklahoma.
