Tennessee fans can now plan their game days for the regular season finale against Vanderbilt, as the school announced the game time on Monday afternoon. The game will be a 3:30 pm ET kick on ABC or ESPN
Finally, Tennessee won’t be playing a night game in a big SEC spot as they did against Alabama, Kentucky, Oklahoma over the last month. Instead, the SEC has Bama and Auburn battling it out under the lights on Saturday night, which is a very logical and welcomed decision.
Tennessee will be looking to get to home win #30 in the Josh Heupel era, who now sits at 29-6 in games at Neyland Stadium through almost five full seasons.
They will also – ironically, after beating the Dores last year in the regular season finale to make the playoff – be looking to keep Vanderbilt from doing the unthinkable and potentially making the College Football Playoff for the first time ever. Even if they don’t, the Commodores have a shot right now at doing something else that Tennessee can’t this year -reach 10-2, which they’ll be playing to do against the Vols if they take care of business this weekend at home against Kentucky.
Tennessee owns an 81-32-5 all-time mark over Vanderbilt with a 40-11-1 record at home. The Vols have won six straight since the Commodores’ last win – 38-13 in 2018 in Nashville.
